Ben Thompson  X MoMA New York

Reimagined Breton Sweater for MoMA's exhibition: "Items: Is Fashion Modern?" as part of 100 iconic fashion pieces rework. Originally designed for French Navy, the sweater's digital version is displayed on an interactive large touchscreen.

We incorporated 21 parameters mirroring the stripes, including personal info and user-defined striping patterns. Fluid mechanics-inspired motion allows manipulation of the pattern, capturing the sailor-wave connection. This informs the knitting of a physical product.

Unmade is a software company based in London that provides the world’s leading apparel and sportswear brands with the digital infrastructure to connect demand directly to production.

UMd, the experimental brand of Unmade, redefined industrial knitting machines as 3D printers by hacking software. Customizable knitwear collections were developed with unique interaction designs, storytelling, and marketing.

Rapha’s cyclewear customers could create a complete team kit of the finest cycling clothing with limitless options and hundreds of colours and layouts using a bespoke configurator.

The customization platform offered user-friendly templates as starting points, facilitating logo uploads for complete team kits. It guided both advanced and novice users through a simple interface of options. Distinguished by previews of designs on models and locations, it captivated users' imagination. Completed designs could be added to a shared team portal for teammates.

For the launch of Selfridges Denim Studio, at The Rumpus Room, we created a system that collected and organised images sent from mobile devices and DSLR cameras by 350 collaborators attending a special Denim Lovers campaign fashion shoot.

As each image was received, computer vision tracking software was used to analyse, adjust and finally combine all the images into one complete composition. The result is a true collaboration interactive composition allowing visitors to explore the composition and discover each individual photographic contribution.
